Cost guide

How much does app development cost in India? (2026)

App development in India has no single price. For a first release, Indian MVP guides put a simple custom build at about $10,000–$25,000, a mid-level one at $25,000–$60,000 and a complex SaaS above $60,000 (2026). No-code can start near $1,000–$5,000. pSkyro Labs gives a fixed quote after discovery.

What changes the price of an app?

Almost every app quote is built from the same six inputs. Know yours before you ask for a price.

Features and user roles

Each feature costs build, design and testing time. User roles multiply it: an app with customers, vendors and an admin is three products in one. The fastest way to cut cost is to remove features from the first release.

Web, iOS, Android, or all

A web app is usually the quickest to build and test. Native apps for iOS and Android cost more than one cross-platform codebase. The right choice depends on what your users need on their phones, such as camera, notifications or offline use.

Integrations and APIs

Payments, maps, SMS, WhatsApp, accounting tools and existing systems each add work, especially when the other side's documentation is poor.

Admin panel and reporting

Users see the app. You live in the admin panel. Order management, user management and reports are often a third of the real work and are easy to leave off a quote.

Security and compliance

Handling payments, health or financial data raises the testing and documentation bar. Say early if your app handles any of these.

Design depth

Using a design system and standard patterns is faster than custom animation and bespoke interfaces. Good design also reduces rework in development, so cutting it entirely rarely saves money.

How much does each type of app cost?

Published guides price apps in several different ways. The ranges below are for a first release built by an Indian team.

TypeRangeSourceTypical features

US-based teams cost more than the Indian teams in these guides. For the trade-offs, see our no-code vs custom MVP comparison.

Freelancer, agency or studio: who should build your app?

App builds run for months and touch design, code, testing and release. That makes the team's process as important as the price.

What hidden and ongoing costs should you plan for?

The first release is not the end of spending.

Hosting and infrastructure

Servers, databases, storage and monitoring are paid monthly and grow with users. Ask for a projection at ten times your starting usage.

Maintenance and updates

iOS and Android release new versions every year, and libraries need updating. An app left alone for a year often needs repair work to keep running.

App store fees and accounts

Apple and Google charge for developer accounts. Check current prices on their websites, and register the accounts in your own business name.

Third-party services

SMS, email, maps, payment gateways and AI calls are usually billed by usage. A feature that looks free can become a monthly bill.

The next release

Real users will ask for things you did not plan. Budget for a second release based on what they actually do.

How can you reduce app cost without cutting quality?

Scope is the biggest lever. Build the smallest version that proves the idea, and write down what waits for release two. Our explainer what is an MVP covers the idea.

Start on one platform, usually the one most of your users use. Use standard components for login, payments and notifications. Validate the idea with a clickable prototype before you write code: testing a prototype is far cheaper than rewriting a built feature.

What does pSkyro Labs charge for app development?

pSkyro Labs gives a fixed quote for the first release after a discovery call. We do not publish a starting price. The quote covers the technical plan, build, testing and QA, deployment and documentation, and a tight scope is the biggest lever on it, which is why we start with discovery.

Our studio is in Bhopal. We work with clients across India over video calls, and our clients sell across India, the US, New Zealand and Australia. See app development in Bhopal, the main app development service and digital product development for MVPs.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

How much does app development cost in India?

It varies with scope. For a first release, Indian MVP guides put simple custom builds at about $10,000–$25,000, mid-level at $25,000–$60,000 and complex SaaS above $60,000 (2026). pSkyro Labs quotes a fixed price after discovery.

What is the cheapest way to build an app?

A no-code tool, for a simple idea. One 2026 guide puts simple no-code builds at about $1,000–$5,000. The trade-off is platform limits and, if the idea works, possibly a rebuild.

How much does it cost to make an app like Swiggy?

A marketplace with customer, restaurant and delivery apps, live tracking and an admin panel is a complex build, not an MVP. We have no sourced figure for it. Start with one city and one app, scope that, and get a quote.

Is it cheaper to build for Android only?

Usually a single platform costs less than two native apps. A cross-platform build can cover both with one codebase. Choose by where your users are.

Do I pay for maintenance separately?

Yes. Hosting, updates and fixes are ongoing, and are normally agreed separately from the build quote.

Why do app quotes vary so much?

Because scope, platforms, integrations, design depth and testing differ. A quote for a prototype and a quote for a production app with an admin panel are not comparable.

Can I start with a web app instead of a mobile app?

Often yes. A web app is usually faster to build and test. Move to mobile once users prove the idea and you know which phone features you need.

Why do you not give a rupee range for apps?

We only publish figures we can source. The sourced ranges we have are MVP ranges in dollars. A fixed quote after discovery is the only reliable number.
